What Screens Want is an essay inter­pre­ta­tion of Frank Chimero’s talk from Build, 2013, dis­cussing the evo­lu­tion of tech­nol­o­gy and what it means for design­ers. He talks about methaphors as assis­tive devices, and draws some inter­est­ing metaphors on his own.

“Sound of Threads”

An exhi­bi­tion in Reyk­javik, Ice­land in june 2013 by Bertrand Lan­thiez, where vis­i­tors inter­act­ed with the immer­sive work by both feel­ing and cre­at­ing music. Visu­al­iz­ing music onto thin strands of Ice­landic wool, the black and white piece trans­lates dif­fer­ent rhythms through light waves, enabling the sound not only to be heard but also ‘seen’.
